WINEMAKING
Gewürztraminer grapes were hand-picked from our long-standing growers for Gray Monk within the Kelowna, Oliver and Kaleden regions in the Okanagan Valley, along with our Rocky Ridge Vineyard in the Similkameen Valley. The grapes were gently pressed, cool fermented, and aged in stainless steel tanks for pure fruit expression. A small portion of mainly Chardonnay and Muscat (9%) was added to increase aromatics.

FLAVOUR PROFILE
This Gewürztraminer is clear and bright with a pretty aroma of melon, mango, golden pineapple, lychee nut, and rose petals. This smooth, slightly rich, medium-bodied wine has flavours of juicy tropical fruit, melon, and peach. Notes of tropical fruit, melon, sweet citrus, and floral linger on the medium-dry finish.

SERVING SUGGESTIONS
Lovely sipping wine or serve with Tandoori chicken; Cajun spiced fish; baked salmon with Asian glaze; spiced crab cakes; pad Thai; vegetable stir-fries (include ginger, hoisin, and oyster sauces); take-out Chinese food; ham and grainy mustard Panini; clove-studded baked ham; cumin scented chicken quesadillas; cumin pork tenderloin; vegetable samosas; curried vegetable pies; curried cauliflower; a cheese board with cumin seed Gouda and Munster, both with water crackers.

Appearance: Bright, clear. Pale straw core.
Nose: Rose, lychee, orange blossom, honeysuckle.
Palate: Medium acid, medium- body. Slightly off dry. Lychee, tangerine, baking spice, a hint of honey.
Quality: Very Good+. 88 points. Drink now.

 

Food Pairing: Sriracha shrimp tacos with cilantro-lime slaw, pumpkin gnocchi with sage butter sauce, spicy Singapore noodles with curry, Korean barbeque chicken wings, and spice-rubbed grilled pork chops.
