Canadian wine delivered right to your door!
Pale in the glass with intense aromas of fresh lime, lemon confit and spring blossoms. The palate is equally refreshing with high acidity balanced by notes of sweetness and lemon lime tang with a touch of minerality. The finish is flavourful and long. Enjoy on its own or pair with spicy foods to contrast or acidic foods to balance. Will develop further complexities with medium term aging.
June’s Vineyard is a unique site with significant quantities of decomposed yellow limestone amongst the clay loam soils giving the wines an extra dimension of stony minerality on top of the ripe fruit and flowery aromas. Named after one of the owners of the winery, this site which was planted in 1999, continues to deliver exceptional Riesling and Chardonnay making two of the most distinctive wines in our portfolio. Clone 49 Riesling is an old clone which was popular in Alsace, France for many years. Its trademarks are exceptional fruit and floral character. The grapes were harvested in mid-October and immediately pressed into stainless steel tanks for a cool fermentation which was stopped to retain balancing residual sugar. The wine was lightly fined and filtered before bottling in January 2020.
Awards & Ratings
“Clean, with light, delicate aromatics very much in the varietal spectrum, mostly tart lemon-lime and green apple; acids are super-crunchy, tart but not shrill, framing a light-bodied palate. Depth and length are very good. Classic stuff, ready to enjoy or hold mid-term. Tasted October 2020.”
