Pied de Cuve Cabernet Franc, 2020

Vibrant, punchy, juicy and fresh. This intense, Loire style but bolder, Cabernet Franc is packed with flavours and aromas of blueberry, raspberry and red plum with violet and dried herb notes. Deliberately unfined and unfiltered this wine is cloudy in the glass. It pops with crunchy, fresh mixed berries, savoury dried wild herbs, floral violet notes, earth, leather and spice and has a long, refreshing finish.
Vintage and Production: A moderate vintage, 2020 allowed for a long growing season with good flavour intensity and moderate levels of alcohol, ideal for this fresh, vibrant style of Cabernet Franc. We food tread the grapes with a quarter left as whole clusters. Wild fermentation on the skins lasted for just over two weeks before gentle pressing. The wine was aged in a stainless steel tank for 10 months before bottling unfined and unfiltered in August 2021
