2020 Vintage: We had a good start to the growing season with a warm April, May and June were a bit cool and wet. But June, July and August were hot and sunny making for a perfect growing season, very consistent weather that provided even ripening and this also allowed the flavours to develop nicely. September also was warm providing us with the last bit of perfect ripening. Vinification: The harvested grapes were de-stemmed and gently crushed to release the red colour from the skin. The fruit rested in the press to allow the right amount of flavour and colour to develop. After a few hours we pressed the juice of the skins making a pretty, pink Rose. The juice was fermented with cultured yeast in stainless steel tanks. The tanks are temperature controlled allowing for a cool fermentation. This helps preserve the fresh fruit flavours. Once fermentation is completed, the wine is racked off it’s lees and kept cool in the stainless-steel tanks until bottling time.
Tasting Notes: This wine has aromas of fresh strawberries and cream. Delicious flavours of Strawberries and bright red fruit. There are hints of ripe citrus, fruity and dry.
Cellaring Potential: this wine should be enjoyed as soon as it’s released and through 2022. Perfect for Spring and summer!
