With each gentle swirl of the glass, notes of blue plum, black cherry, and blackcurrant fruit notes mingle with smoky oak, cigar box, and tobacco leaf. This medium- to full-bodied red has soft yet drying tannins, and fruit-flavours of blackcurrant and black cherry, with notes of spice and oak. Black tea, cocoa powder, blackcurrant, and spice box notes linger on the extra-dry finish. Enjoy now through 2025.

Enjoy with lamb chops; grilled steaks; beef, bean, and vegetable stews; beef brisket; leg of lamb; game meats; pot roast and root vegetables; two-year-old Canadian cheddar.

Winemaking Notes: The grapes for our Cabernet Merlot come from several vineyards in the south Okanagan and the Similkameen valleys. The blend consists of 39.5% Cabernet Franc, 34.6% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 25.9% Merlot. The wine was tank fermented, then 50% was aged in stainless steel tanks, and 50% was aged in (50%) French and (50%) American oak barrels (10% new oak) for 12 to 14 months. The wines were blended just before bottling.

Appearance: Semi-opaque. Dark ruby red colour.
Nose: Plum, blackberry, dark cherry, violets, smoke, hints of green pepper, vanilla, and black pepper.
Palate: Medium acid, medium tannin, medium body. Plum, raspberry, black cherry, blackcurrant, green pepper, dark chocolate, savoury green herbs, hints of vanilla and black pepper.
Quality: 90 points. Outstanding. Decant well and enjoy now or hold 1 – 2 years.

Food Pairing: Fried tofu with balsamic reduction, slow cooker pot roast with carrots and potatoes, flame-grilled steak with sautéed mushrooms and onions, assorted rich charcuterie, and cheese-stuffed dates wrapped with bacon.
