This iconic rooster really expresses its 'Rhone-style' image with flare and panache while strutting through the hen house. The clutch of hens immediately noticed the perfect shade of deep ruby, and enticing bouquet of red berry, humidor, sweet baking spices and cedar with just a dash of savoury herbs, leather and forest floor. This dry, medium to full-bodied wine has silky tannins, good structure and moderate acidity. Flavours of mixed red berries provide that perfect juicy, fruit-forward excitement, while a note of earth, sweet spice, black pepper and oak adds interest. Red berry, smoky cedar and savoury notes of mushroom and herbs linger on the extra-dry finish. Enjoy now through 2023.

The 2017 vintage of the “Golden Egg” is a blend of 40% Mourvedre, 40% Grenache, 19% Syrah and 1% Viognier. Each varietal was aged separately for 12 months, then blended together. The final assemblage was aged a further 12 months before bottling (a total of 24 months in 100% French oak barriques). Very limited production of 213 cases.
