Varietal: Malbec 85%, Pinot Gris 10% Merlot 5%. 100% BC Grown

Tasting Notes: The wine is currently showing bold aromas and flavors reminiscent of strawberry, raspberries, rhubarb, and pomegranate and rose petals and has a luscious, dry, savory finish.

Food Pairing Notes: Brilliant with cheese and charcuterie on the deck in the early afternoon or have it with light grilled seafood. There is enough structure in this wine to be very food versatile or you can just enjoy it on it's own.

Winemaking: The Malbec was hand picked, and destemmed. Our Rose is made in a traditional style where we cold soak the grapes for between 24 and 48 hours and then fully press, separating the pulp from the juice. In doing so we are extracting some of the rich, dark Malbec color as well as some of the skin tannin which enhances the wines mouth feel. Then the clarified juice undergoes a cool temperature controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The wine is further aged 3 months on the finer lees where complexity and mouth feel are developed. The 2022 vintage was then blended with 10% Pinot Gris and 5% white Merlot, back sweetened slightly, fined, filtered and bottled. The result is a beautiful, vibrantly colored rosé.

One of the few Rosé made from Malbec in the Okanagan, this wine has a gorgeous pink and orange colour. Aromas of strawberry, cherry and rose petals. Flavours of strawberry, pomegranate, and Key lime with savoury notes. A vibrant mouthfeel and long finish.

  • Connoisseur Note(s):

    River Stone Estate Winery Malbec rosé never disappoints and the 2022 vintage even looks summery in the glass. Bright pink with a touch of coral and enticing on the nose with medium-intensity aromas of fresh rhubarb, strawberry, watermelon and honeysuckle. On the palate, the wine is just dry, medium-bodied with red currant, fresh Rainer cherry, rhubarb, strawberry weighty and filling the mid-palate. Nicely balanced with medium-plus-acidity and there is a touch of tannin on this food-friendly rosé. Chill and enjoy it with veggie kebabs and turkey burgers from the grill.
