60% Merlot and 40% Gamay Noir

A shiny orange pink colour. This Rosé begins with lovely notes of melon, red currant, pomegranate, red berry, and a touch of earth. A dry, smooth yet refreshing wine with  fruity flavours of red berry, Rainier cherry, and melon. This rosé finishes with notes of Rainier cherry, melon, pomegranate, and red berry tea.

Excellent with tapas; antipasto plates; feta bruschetta; whole grain summer salads; buffalo mozzarella and tomato salad; Greek salad; grilled salmon; crab cakes; grilled calamari; pissaladiere; Margherita pizza; grilled pork tenderloin; feta cheese; Tourtiere with tangy chili sauce.

The 2021 growing season began with near normal temperature and rainfall throughout April and May. Almost over-night, summer arrived with record breaking heat and drought in June and July. The extreme heat during flowering and pollination proved slightly detrimental to the vines with some fruit not setting, reducing final crop size by 20 to 25%. The northern vineyards did not experience the extreme 40˚C plus weather seen in the south, so crop was more consistent in the north. The harvest season began August 26, with the wineries being very cautious with our approach to handling the fruit, both during harvest and upon arrival at the winery. We feel positive about our fruit quality coming out of this extreme year. The first fall frost appeared October 11, Thanksgiving Day, halting photosynthesis, with the last of the grapes coming off the vines on October 21. [The Summerland region saw 1555 GDD; Osoyoos region saw 1758 GDD].

Appearance: Clear. Pale salmon colour.
Nose: Strawberry, raspberry, red cherry, hint of sweet herbs.
Palate: Medium acid, light tannin, medium body. Raspberry, red cherry, strawberry, savoury green herbs, hints of baking spice.
Quality: 90 points – Wine Club Canada. Outstanding.

Food Pairing: Quinoa-stuffed portobello mushrooms, chicken chili verde, Mongolian beef, butternut squash and kale salad with pumpkin seeds, and grilled salmon with avocado salsa.
