Description

A rich nose of blue and black berries, cherries, raspberries, with cinnamon and chocolate tones. The palate is silky, fruit forward and vibrant, and the flavour stays with you followed by a little heat in the throat. A must have wine with seared steak or prime rib.

Varietals: 60% Cabernet Franc, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, 5% Dornfelder

Geographical Indication: VQA Niagara Peninsula
Varietal: Cabernet Franc (60%), Cabernet Sauvignon (20%), Merlot (15%) & Dornfelder (5%)
Residual Sugar: 4.8 g/L
Cases Produced: 100

 

Appearance: Dense, dark ruby in colour.
Nose: Cedary, spicy, toasty, tobacco leaf, black plum bouquet with a floral top note.
Palate: Medium to full-bodied, dry, plum and raisin flavours with a dark chocolate finish. Rich and full on the palate.
Quality: Outstanding. 90-92 points. Can be consumed now, but will evolve nicely in 1-2 years.

 

Food Pairing: Tuscan steak with sun-dried tomatoes, pesto pizza with artichokes and prosciutto, butternut squash tamales, miso curry stir-fry with chicken and green beans, and sweet and spicy BBQ pork.
