The Friday Files: News & Notes From Canada's Wine Scene

A record number of 19 new Masters of Wine was announced earlier this week, and two of them are from Canadian wineries! A big congratulations goes to Eugene Mlynczyk, the strategic account manager at Constellation Brands, and Marcus Ansems, who owns Daydreamer Wines in the Okanagan Valley, BC, which is also one of My Wine Canada's partner wineries. This is a great achievement!

Oysters are back in season! Now the question is, which varietal of wine do you drink with them? Luckily, you don’t need to break the bank with an expensive Champagne. Bill Zacharkiw from the Montreal Gazette shares his love for the French indigenous grape Picpoul. The perfect match for these delicious morsels!
