Pair It Up! Lacey Estates Wine

Inspired by one of my favourite chefs, below are three recipes from Yotam Ottolenghi that will pair marvellously with the fantastic wines from Prince Edward County's Lacey Estates Winery. And you've got a great opportunity to taste these wines from Lacey Estates with their free shipping flash sale that's on right now. Mix up 6 bottles or more and get free shipping!

Recipe #1: Tomato and watermelon gazpacho & Riesling

Gazpacho is a cold soup made from ripe tomatoes and watermelon; it’s a great way to keep your body cool when the thermometer rises. For the perfect combo, choose a thirst quenching white that bursts with acidity and citrus flavors. Dry, with exuberant notes of lime and lemon, Lacey Estates' 2014 Dry Riesling has all of the qualities required to make your meal shine.

Recipe #2: Chermoula-basted halibut with faro & Chardonnay

Fresh Halibut from the west coast is some of the greatest Canadian fish one can find. Take the opportunity to explore a different way to cook it while its still in season. As for wine, a richer white will make a good companion. The lemon and slightly smoked notes of the 2014 Chardonnay provide a nice bridge between the wine and the chermoula. Guaranteed to impress any guests. Tasted and approved!

Recipe #3: French Beans With Shiitake Mushrooms & Nutmeg & Pinot Noir

Green beans from the local market become a weekly purchase for me in the summer. This recipe is a nice twist on how to enjoy them and you can serve it with any of your favourite proteins cooked on the grill. The shiitake mushroom gives you the opportunity to serve your salad with a light red. Earthy with bright notes of cherries and strawberries, Lacey Estates' 2013 Pinot Noir is a natural fit. Make sure you serve slightly chilled.
