Founded in 1998, 13th Street Winery produces an excellent range of wine, specializing in gamay, pinot noir, chardonnay, riesling, and traditional method sparkling wine. Expert winemaker, Jean Pierre Colas, applies his wealth of French and Niagara winemaking experience to craft exceptional wine each vintage from the best grapes in Niagara.
We were fortunate to taste through 13th Street’s wines and we are excited for you to try them as well. Here are some of our favourites in September’s wine club packages.
A lovely chardonnay with well-integrated oak. Golden straw in colour, it's full of toasted spice, peach, and apple aromas. Flavours of apple, lemon, and honey make this wine a great pairing with pumpkin and ricotta bruschetta or halibut with roasted pine nut crust.
2018 Blanc de Blanc
This crisp, dry sparkling wine features bright aromas of green apple, lemon, and lime zest with refreshing notes of green apple and lemon on the palate. Enjoy with fresh oysters or sushi.
This bold pinot is showing plenty of strawberry, violet, and oak spice aromas on the nose. Well-balanced with beautiful flavours of red berries and herbs on the palate. Perfect to drink now, try it with braised beef stew or portobello mushroom and green pea stir-fry.
This medium-bodied red presents wonderful light floral and beetroot aromas followed by flavours of red cherry and a slight zestiness. Pair it with pork spare ribs or hanger steak.
