After working at notable international vineyards including the famed Chablis house, Domaine Laroche, in his home country of France, Carmen Vineyards in Chile, and Oyster Bay Winery in New Zealand, winemaker, Jean-Pierre Colas, found his home at 13th Street Winery. Colas believes that great wine comes from the best grapes grown in the best vineyards. With this philosophy, Colas selects the finest fruit from 13th Street's sustainably farmed vineyards to craft the elegant and ageable reds and whites that the winery has become known for.
Aged in stainless steel, this delicate riesling is rated 91 points by Tony Aspler. It has a floral and grapefruit nose followed by vibrant notes of lemon-lime, stone fruit, and a thread of minerality on the palate. Enjoy now in its youth or age for 2-3 years to develop further complexities. This wine is a wonderful pairing with curry chicken skewers with lime, vegetable pakoras with mango chutney, or a tuna and edamame poké bowl.
This beautiful white was aged for five months in new Acacia barrels which adds a nice layer of complexity. Intense aromas of honeysuckle, lychee, and a hint of oak spice lead into lovely flavours of passionfruit, nectarine, and lime zest. Try it with ginger salad with chickpeas and peanuts, smoked rainbow trout, or duck in red curry.
