My Wine Canada Wine Club Feature: Bella Terra Vineyards

Happy New Year! Wine Club 2023 is off to a phenomenal start with January’s featured winery. Known formally as PondView at Bella Terra Vineyards, the winery is founded on winemaking knowledge brought over from Sicily and passed down through generations. What started over 55 years ago with Giuseppe Puglisi and his passion for grape-growing and winemaking has evolved into a world-class winery renown for crafting Italian-style wines.

Sign up for the wine club today to get a collection of fabulous Niagara wine delivered to you or a loved one.

In 1965, Giuseppe Puglisi came to Canada from Sicily bringing with him a passion for growing grapes and crafting wine. The torch was passed to his son, Lou Puglisi, who carries on the family tradition to this day. Lou takes pride in producing wines that reflect their estate's “beautiful land,” the English translation of “Bella Terra.” Their logo is a modernized version of Sicilian clay tiles and symbolizes the earth and sun as the foundation of outstanding grape farming. Located in the Four Mile Creek sub-appellation of Niagara, Bella Terra Vineyards benefits from incredible sun exposure and soil conditions which results in a portfolio of rich and flavourful whites and bold and complex reds.
