We recently had the opportunity to taste Black Hills’ wines and it was a blast! Here are some of our favourites that have been selected for our wine club members. You can find all of these wines and more in the July Wine Club package.
A delightful white blend of seven grape varietals predominately Chasselas, Riesling and Muscat, among others. Featuring a complex nose of tropical fruit, lychee, grapefruit, and lime, and a cornucopia of spicy orange, pear and apple flavours on the palate, this off-dry wine pairs perfectly with avocado and prawn risotto, swiss cheese fondue or spicy pad Thai.
This elegant white is an excellent choice for summertime patio sipping. On the nose, this Viognier is impressive with delightful aromas of white peach and grape flavour with pink grapefruit acidity on the palate. Enjoy this with lamb tagine with chickpeas and apricots or coconut shrimp with sweet chilli dipping sauce.
A medium-bodied red with notes of Morello cherries, oak spice and vanilla on the nose. Succulent flavours of sour cherry and raspberry on the palate with fresh acidity. This exceptional Pinot Noir is a great partner with beef bourguignon, herb-crusted pork loin or seared Ahi tuna salad.
2016 Cellar Hand Punch Down Red (Wine Club exclusive!)
An astounding deep ruby blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carménère, and Syrah that is only available in our wine club. A delightful nose of spicy, slightly earthy black cherry leads to notes of plum, cherry and cedar on the palate. This unique red is an excellent match with shepherd’s pie, pan-seared duck breast or roasted leg of lamb.
