Current winemaker, Keith Tyers has combined sustainability and innovative techniques to produce each of the spectacular wines included in this month’s wine club package. We had the chance to taste this month’s featured wines and to say we are impressed would be an understatement! Here are some of our favourite wines that can be found in the August Wine Club package.
2018 K.J. Watson Vineyard Pinot Gris
An elegant white wine with notes of white peach and lemon with a long, fresh, zesty citrus finish. This medium-bodied Pinot Gris is an excellent choice to serve alongside baked lemon-butter tilapia, grilled chicken with jalapeños, or spaghetti al limone.
This medium-bodied white boasts spicy, toasty apple aromas with butterscotch, lemon and macadamia nut on the palate. We recommend pairing this Chardonnay with a shrimp and avocado cocktail, Camembert cheese, and blackened cod tacos.
2017 Vineyard Pinot Noir
This unfiltered red earned an impressive 93 point rating from wine critic Tony Aspler. Every sip is filled with flavours of violet, cherry, raspberry and strawberry. Pairs seamlessly with bacon stuffed mushroom caps, roasted pork loin, and Szechuan beef stir-fry.
2015 K.J. Watson Vineyard Pinot Noir
A well-balanced red with floral, cedar, and tealeaf aromas. The palate shows notes of oak spice and cherry with a long finish. This medium to full-bodied wine partners well with stuffed eggplant with lamb and pine nuts, beef carpaccio with warm mushroom salad, and crispy skin duck with orange sesame sauce.
