My Wine Canada Wine Club Feature: Gold Hill Winery
We are pleased to announce this month’s wine club feature, Gold Hill Winery. With generations of agricultural knowledge from the Indus Valley in Punjab, India, the Gill brothers brought their expertise to the South Okanagan in B.C. They have a deep understanding of the terroir of each of their vineyards, and apply this knowledge to produce impeccable fruit that is crafted into spectacular wine.

Sant and Gurbachan Gill moved to Canada in the 1980s from the Indus Valley region in Punjab, India, where the growing conditions were similar to the South Okanagan in B.C. This made for an easy transition in their grape-growing journey, and in 1995, the brothers purchased 24 acres in the Golden Mile region. After slowly converting the land into vineyards over the years, they took the next, natural step in 2009 with the production of wine, producing a modest 400 cases. Today, they craft a tantalizing collection of red, white, and rosé wines under the Gold Hill, Charisma, and TerreLab labels with the expertise of renowned winemaker and viticulturist, Val Tait. With over three decades of experience in winemaking and viticultural oversight, Val is a shining gem in the Gold Hill team and focuses on crafting small lot, by-hand wines for the winery.
