Along with a few other Niagara wineries, Henry of Pelham helped found the Vintners Quality Alliance (VQA) which manages the appellation of origin and quality. They were one of the first Niagara wineries to use their own grapes to produce premium wine, as well as the first vineyard to be certified as local and sustainable by Local Food Plus. Today, the Speck brothers continue to push the envelope in winemaking and viticulture and produce a wide portfolio of world class wine that showcases the famous terroir of the Short Hills Bench sub-appellation.
A monthly wine delivery is the perfect gift for your favourite wine enthusiast. Here's a sneak peek at some of the featured bottles in our December Wine Club packs.
2020 Bin 106 Lost Boys Limited Edition Baco Noir
This rich, limited edition gem earned an outstanding 91.5-point rating from wine expert Tony Aspler. Medium- to full-bodied with flavours of sour cherry and blackberry with bright acidity. Pair it with baked jalapeño poppers or duck a l'orange.
2020 Chardonnay Speck Family Reserve
An elegant white aged for nine months in oak. Aromas of apple, toast, and oak spice lead to notes of green apple, lemon, and baking spice on the palate. Enjoy this bottle with grilled calamari with green mango, or smoked salmon salad with honey mustard dressing.
A stunning traditional method bubbly. Beautifully refined with elegant notes of green apple and lemon earned this sparkling a 92-point rating from Tony Aspler. Celebrate the new year with these bubbles or try it with tandoori kebabs or strawberry and cream cheese turnovers.
An alluring red blend of cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, and merlot. Cedar, redcurrant and blackcurrant, and oak spice aromas are followed by savoury herbal notes and cranberry flavours. We recommend pairing this with beef Wellington or mac and cheese with bacon.
