My Wine Canada Wine Club Feature: Lunessence Winery & Vineyard

With a motto of “harmony, from vine to wine,” Lunessence Winery & Vineyard uses traditional winemaking methods combined with sustainable viticulture practices, and the use of classical music to craft their wines. The powerful yet soothing notes of classical music reverberate throughout the vineyards which, the team says, leads to well-balanced wines. The result is a grand portfolio of red and white wines that showcase the spectacular terroir of the Okanagan Valley.
We had the pleasure of tasting some of Lunessence's wines and can't wait for you to enjoy them as much as we did. Here are some of our favourites that are featured in June’s wine club packages.
This dry riesling has a minerally and floral nose with a hint of grapefruit and honey. On the palate, you’ll find notes of lime, bitter orange, and crab apple. Try pairing it with Cajun-spiced pork chops or lemongrass chicken stir-fry.
A medium-bodied blend of sauvignon blanc, muscat cannelli, viognier, chardonnay, and semillon. Wonderful aromas of honeysuckle followed by tangerine and honey flavours on the palate. Enjoy it with garlic and herb-baked oysters or spinach and roasted artichoke casserole.
This Bordeaux-style red blend is well-balanced with great structure. A fragrant nose of blackcurrant and cigar box leads to beautiful flavours of plum and blackcurrant. This is an excellent choice alongside rosemary and garlic-crusted ham or filet mignon with garlic-wasabi sauce and quinoa.
With aromas of cedar, black plum, violets, and oak spice, this is an elegant merlot that will excite red wine drinkers. This wine was made to be paired with dinner and would go great with barbecued chicken or burgers with mushrooms and swiss cheese.
