My Wine Canada Wine Club Feature: Perseus Winery

This month’s wine club feature has us starry-eyed! Perseus Winery has an exemplary line of wines that will be appreciated by all Moms and also be sent straight to her door this month. Take advantage of this stellar opportunity to sign Mom up for our wine club, she’ll receive an expertly-picked selection of wines delivered directly to her!

Located in beautiful Penticton, BC, Perseus is dedicated to showcasing the diversity of their location through honest and versatile wines. Their philosophy revolves around using the best grapes available and handling the winemaking process gently. In doing so, they are able to showcase the outstanding terroir of British Columbia in each bottle.

This unique winery is named after the Perseus constellation, which hovers over the estate during the time of harvest. Perseus has made waves in the Canadian and international wine industry for years, collecting many awards and accolades for their wines. Most recently, they won an impressive Gold Medal for their Invictus 2014 vintage at the 2017 National Wine Awards of Canada.

We had the pleasure of tasting Perseus’ delectable portfolio of wines. Here are some of our favourites. These wines, along with many others, can be found in various wine club packages this month, so make sure to sign up or gift this to your Mom!

Pinot Gris, 2017

2017 Pinot Gris

This crisp white has lovely aromas of peach, apricot, and pear. On the palate, notes of lemon and grapefruit, with a hint of vanilla and honey. A very pleasant, long finish. Pair it with a Thai mango salad and lemon-garlic shrimp skewers.

 Rosé, 2017

2017 Rosé

This tantalizing dry rosé is 70% Old Vine Pinot Noir and 30% Pinot Gris. It’s showing aromas of cranberry and white flowers on the nose. On the palate, fruit salad and baking spice, with a lovely, dry finish. Pair it alongside a fresh catch of fish and marinated vegetable salad.

Chardonnay Select Lots, 2016

2016 Chardonnay Select Lots

Lightly oaked, and full-bodied. After ripening in the North Okanagan, these grapes were placed in American oak barrels for fermentation and aged on the lees for 10 months. Aromas of lemon, hazelnut and minerality. The palate shows notes of honey, roasted nuts and yellow apple, with a great finish. Perfect to pair with soft cheeses and a creamy herb chicken.

Cabernet Franc Select Lots, 2014

2014 Cabernet Franc Select Lots

A well-balanced red with aromas of blackberry, dried herbs, and violets. This wine calls for 7+ years in the cellar, but can be enjoyed now with a rich dish like barbecued short ribs or roasted pork loin.

Sign up by May 15th to receive Perseus’ wines. This is the perfect Mother’s Day gift. You won’t want to miss out on this month’s selections - they’re out of this world!
