TIME Winery & Evolve Cellars were the vision of BC wine pioneer, Harry McWatters. Integral in establishing quality wine growing and winemaking in BC, McWatters was a legend in the BC wine industry and set the bar high for his own wine brands. With a long list of tremendous accomplishments throughout his amazing life, some of his achievements include founding the British Columbia Wine Institute (BCWI), Vintners Quality Alliance (VQA) Canada, and the Okanagan Wine Festivals Society, releasing Canada’s first traditional method sparkling wine, and launching Canada’s first Meritage (Bordeaux-style red wine blend).
Today McWatters's legacy lives on through the TIME Winery and Evolve Cellars brands. We were extremely fortunate to try TIME Winery and Evolve Cellars' wines and can't wait to share these beautiful wines with you. Here are some of our favourites from August’s wine club packages.
2018 Evolve Elevate Ehrenfelser
This tantalizing white has a vibrant nose with delightful tropical fruit aromas and offers lively notes of lemon and lime citrus, and white peach on the palate. It goes well with applesauce glazed pork chops or Moroccan spiced lentils and turkey meatballs.
A dry, well-balanced viognier that showcases a light honeysuckle and peach bouquet on the nose, and flavours of succulent peach and lemon with a touch of bitterness on the finish. Try pairing it with chicken samosas with coriander chutney or veal scallopini in a creamy caper sauce.
With a smoky nose and herbal notes, this well-balanced red is one that red wine lovers will rejoice over. Aged in oak, it presents flavours of blackberry, black plum, and smoke. This is an excellent choice alongside seared tuna with black sesame seeds or flank steak and mashed potatoes.
A bold blend of merlot, syrah, cabernet franc, and cabernet sauvignon. This red blend presents wonderful aromas of black plum, blackberry, and vanilla oak. Medium- to full-bodied with black fruit and chocolate flavours. Enjoy it with garlic and herb chicken wings or Italian sausages with fennel.
