The journey began in 2011, when the Sproll family fell in love with Trail’s 14-acre property and couldn’t pass up the opportunity knowing the potential the estate had. Since then, Trail Estate Winery has been dedicated to producing wines of uncompromising quality. Whether it is their award-winning unfiltered Chardonnay, their Skin-Ferment Riesling, or their vivacious Pét-Nat, each wine tells a story and each vintage and is beyond compare.

We’re excited for you to experience the wines in this month’s package from Trail Estate Winery. Here are a few of our favourites from October’s wine club package.

2017 Chardonnay Unfiltered

2017 Unfiltered Chardonnay

Scoring an outstanding 92 points from Tony Aspler, this unfiltered chardonnay is simply incomparable with a beautiful balance of flavours on the palate including fresh lemon, green apple, and green pineapple mixed with oak and baking spice. This dry, medium-bodied white pairs perfectly with creamy lobster linguine, lemon chicken with grilled bok choy, or an Ahi poke bowl.

2016 Oak Aged Gewürztraminer

2016 Oak Aged Gewurztraminer

Pale golden in colour, this light to medium-bodied white wine is extremely fragrant with notes of lychee and rose petal. On the palate, this wine is tantalizing with flavours of lychee, cardamom, and kiwi with refreshing acidity. Enjoy with coriander-chili wings, Singapore noodles with prawns, or sweet potato and goats cheese ravioli.

2016 Wingfield Cabernet Franc, Unfiltered

2016 Wingfield Cabernet Franc, Unfiltered

The perfect fall sipper! This elegant cabernet franc has notes of cedar, brambleberry, dark chocolate, and a hint of floral. Earning a 90 point rating from Tony Aspler, this wine is rich and full, delivering mulberry, smoky oak spice, and floral flavours on the palate. Cozy up and enjoy with vegetable lasagna, pork chops with mint julep glaze, or French onion soup.

2018 Pét Nat Red

2018 Pét Nat Red

A vibrant sparkling blend of baco noir and cabernet franc with aromas of red berries. Light-bodied and effervescent, this pét nat is showing flavours of cranberry, raspberry, and a hint of sweetness that is perfectly balanced with lively acidity. Chill and enjoy with sautéed shrimp in garlic butter, fried egg rolls with sweet and sour sauce, or a classic spinach dip.

The days of sitting outside and drinking on a patio may be gone, but the cold weather doesn’t have to be so bad, especially if you’re cozying up with a delicious bottle of wine. Sign up by October 15 to receive an outstanding collection of wines from Trail Estate this month.
