Bright ruby in the glass with intense aromas of candied cherries, milk chocolate, almond and a hint of vanilla with a touch of pepper and earthiness. Medium bodied with juicy flavours of candied raspberry, sweet cherry, vanilla and cedar with fine, ripe tannins, bright acidity and a refreshing but savoury finish.
Decant and serve in large Burgundy-style glasses, slightly cool (18-20oC). Excellent served alongside classic Bistro fare, grilled or roasted poultry and red meats, game, lightly smoked meats and semi-firm cheeses. Unlike many wines made from Gamay, this powerfully structured version will reward cellaring for up to 10 years with a cornucopia of new aromas and mellowed textures.

Nose: Minerally, lightly floral, cherry nose.
Palate: Medium-bodied, dry, sour cherry flavour with fresh acidity. Lovely mouthfeel.
Quality: Outstanding. 90 points. Drink now and through 2021.
Food Pairing: Cajun shrimp and grits, pork dumplings with peanut sauce, spicy tuna crunch roll, baked chicken with sundried tomato cream sauce, and spinach salad with beets and walnuts.
