Deep rich red with hints of garnet, this wine exudes aromas of dried leaf, cassis, and licorice. On the palate dried herbal notes, plum, cassis, earth and licorice combine for an interesting complex play of flavours. Tannins are subtle, soft and balanced with the wine’s fruitiness. On the finish, herbal and anise notes contribute to lingering flavours.
Pairing Notes: Rich, subtly seasoned meats like lamb, venison, and roast chicken pair very well with this wine. Ratatouille and Lasagna would make excellent vegetarian pairings. The herbal notes in the wine pair well with dishes that are subtly spiced, especially with classic French or Italian herbs.

MWCWine expert Ben MacPhee-Sigurdson wrote about this wine on the MWC Wine Blog: "one of the best I tried was the 2013 Cabernet Franc Malbec. A 50-50 blend of the two grapes, the up-front fruit on the nose is all sorts of pretty — plenty of raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, and plum, as well as secondary mocha and leafy notes. There are big, brambly black and red berry notes on the full-bodied palate, with black tea and peppery notes on the light tannins. Really stylish stuff." http://mywinecanada.com/wineblog/canadian-wine-bench-1775/
