Wine Writer’s Comment:
Pinot Gris from the Okanagan Valley continues to provide good bang for the buck, and the Bench 1775 delivers ripe fruit flavours with style.
The addition of 4% Gewürztraminer adds the faintest hint of spice to the bright red apple and pear notes that are front and centre. Stainless steel was the correct way to go with this wine, meaning the freshness of the fruit stands out.
Pinot Gris can be boring. This one’s anything but — it’s crisp, clean, delivers loads of fruit and is extremely versatile.
