Tasting Notes

This elegant wine features raspberry, cherry and coffee aromas combined with earthy, smokey tones. It is a fresh, medium-bodied red with a long berry finish.

Winemaker Notes

This elegant wine showcases the characteristics from four different clones of our 100% estate grown Pinot Noir grapes. Aged in French oak barrels, this gorgeous wine blends notes of cherries and berries with a hint of pepper. It is complex with a lingering finish designed to pair beautifully with grilled salmon or a tender rack of lamb.

Tasting Notes

This was a featured wine in November's wine club package.

Vineyard: Fort Berens Estate vineyard

Cases Produced: 710

Appearance: Bright, semi-opaque, a jewelled burgundy core, lighter rim.

Nose: Medium aromatic intensity. Bright red cherry, mushrooms, earth, and a hint of pepper and smoke.

Palate: Medium body, medium acid, medium tannin. Red cherry, strawberry, raspberry, and black pepper.

Quality: Very good quality. This wine reflects the characteristics of four different clones of Pinot Noir grapes grown on the Fort Berens estate. While still a young wine, the flavours are subtle, yet distinct and refined. Cellar 3-5 years.

Food Pairing: Herb-crusted lamb chops, grilled salmon on a cedar plank, duck breast with Mandarin oranges, beef stew with onions, sautéed mushrooms with wild rice, and festive holiday dinners of all kinds!
