Tasting Notes:Â A garnet-colored Merlot with a complex bouquet of vanilla extract, spices, new leather, cedar, oak and ripe black fruit (cherry and plum). Mature fruity aromas of cassis, plum and blackberry are enhanced with sweet spices. Notes of black tea, blackberry, spice and oak linger on the extra-dry finish.
Goes well with grilled red meats, stewed beans, legs of lamb, lasagna with mushrooms and cheese, pheasant in a rich red wine reduction, duck breasts with cherry and red wine sauce, pâtés with beef and kidneys in sauce, 3-year-old cheddar and asiago.
Serve chilled, at a temperature of 16°C to 18°C. Drink by the end of 2023. Decanting is recommended if the wine is consumed by the end of 2020.
