Hand-picked from our 23 year old vines in the elegant 2013 Vintage, this wine shows notes of blackcurrant and cranberry on the nose with traces of vanilla and tobacco on the palate. 20 months aging in French oak barrels followed by an additional aging in bottle for 9 months has resulted in silky tannins and a long supple mouthfeel. An elegant wine from a beautiful Niagara vintage.

Wine Writer’s Comment:
The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon is made from fruit grown on 23-year-old vines that was picked in early November. After fermentation, the wine was aged in French oak barrels for 20 months and a further 9 months in bottle. This is a juicy and spicy Cabernet that'll definitely be a hit with wine drinkers who enjoy a full and silky red. The tannins are present, yet soft, and will help heighten this wine's food friendly qualities—it will particularly drink well alongside dishes with red meat. GreenLane's 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon was a fan favourite with wine drinkers and wine judges. The 2013 production was tiny with only 141 cases produced. I can't imagine it will be around for long!
