Full-bodied and smooth, an immense Merlot with a plush mouth feel and notable length and finish. Deep garnet in color, this merlot has aromas of black cherry, vanilla and spice that continues onto the palate. A crisp entry with a nice balance of acidity supports intense red fruit flavors of plum, cranberry and blackberry.

The 2010 Reserve Merlot grapes were handpicked in October from Kacaba’s estate vineyard. The 2010 season provided ideal growing conditions, and the cool October nights helped to preserve the fruit’s flavour and acidity. Spontaneous yeast fermentation and extended skin contact give this wine rich flavour and extraction and great complexity. Prior to blending and bottling, this wine was barrel aged in French and American oak for 16 months.
