The Voyageur Chardonnay fruit in 2014 was grown in three premium vineyards around the town of Vineland on the Niagara Peninsula. The three portions were hand harvested; whole bunch pressed, and then fermented individually in new and seasoned French oak barrels. A small portion (20%) was also aged in stainless steel. After almost ten months undisturbed in barrel, the barrels for the final blend were chosen and the wine was bottled in August of 2015. This classic Niagara Chardonnay has aromas of lime, green apple and blossoms with undertones of fresh baked bread and spice. Citrus is carried through to the palate with the crisp acidity which also lends itself to the metallic and mineral notes. This wine has a very long, creamy finish derived from the yeast contact and frequent bâtonnage.
