Dark plum in colour with layered aromas of sweet oak, cherry and red currant with soft plum and rich oak influence. This monster Merlot is still evolving on the palate with drying tannins leading to dark berry fruits, black plum and intense raspberry compote. With the full and young tannins in this wine a rich and fatty dish is necessary to balance the wine and enhance the flavours of both the wine and food. Try with a traditional prime rib dinner served with rich gravy and mashed potatoes prepared with butter and cream; or try with roasted duck served with risotto and root vegetables.
