Our signature red wine with grapes harvested from 65+ year old vines, the oldest on the Naramata Bench and some of the oldest in BC. A deep dark ruby colour, it exhibits aromas of figs, leather, dried Italian plums, chocolate and wild blueberries. A full-bodied red, there is an earthy mineral quality that reflects the unique glacial terroir.
It pairs well with lamb and red meats.

Appearance: Semi-opaque, dark ink-purple core, maroon rim.
Nose: Medium+ aromatic intensity. Black cherry and other black fruits like plum, stewed and spiced prunes, cassis, fruit cake, coffee grounds, dark chocolate.
Palate: Medium tannin, medium acid, medium body. Black fruit compote, ripe plum, herbal notes. A sweet lift on the palate.
Food Pairing: Greek food like lamb or beef skewers with tzatziki sauce, hummus and olives, sizzling saganaki cheese, chicken or pork dishes made with stewed cherries, and basmati rice with herbs and pomegranate seeds.
Lang Vineyards was established in 1990 and is BC’s first farm gate winery. They are now a ripe 27 years old and experts on the Naramata Bench. Marechal Foch has been their flagship grape varietal for years and they continue to produce outstanding wine from their 55 year old Marechal Foch vines.
This wine is very good quality, smooth on the front and back of the palate. It’s a complex, serious wine that could almost masquerade as a Port without the alcoholic intensity. A medium length finish with a ripe, sweet note at the end. Delightful!
