Wine Writer’s Comment:

Marynissen Estates has sent you a treat this month! In 2013, they separated their top Chardonnay juice and introduced three different yeast strains to each batch. Each of the wines have been barrel fermented and aged for 14 months in rare American Oak barrels. The result is three very different Chardonnay expressions from the same vintage. This is a great opportunity to host your own wine tasting with friends and family – you’ll be amazed at some of the flavour differences among the bottles!

The Chardonnay Vin 13 is fantastic and simply fun to drink. The flavours run the spectrum from tropical fruit to smoked peat to truffles. It’s rich and hearty with a satisfying creamy texture. It’s drinking nicely now, but could also be cellared for 4-6 years.
