Wine Writer’s Comment:
Marynissen Estates has been a pioneer in Canadian winemaking and viticulture since 1975 when owners John and Adrianna Marynissen immigrated from Holland and planted vinifera grape vines in the Niagara escarpment. To this day, their plantings of Chardonnay, Riesling, Gamay Noir and Cabernet Franc are some of the oldest in the country.
This 2014 Cabernet Franc is expressive with its dark fruit and earthy, smoky notes. It’s a good quality wine with a medium length finish. A well-balanced expression of a Niagara Cabernet Franc.
