Wine Writer's Comment:
Marynissen Estates has been a pioneer in Canadian winemaking and viticulture since 1975 when owners John and Adrianna Marynissen immigrated from Holland and planted vinifera grape vines in the Niagara escarpment. To this day, their plantings of Chardonnay, Riesling, Gamay Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon are some of the oldest in the country.
The 2013 Quintet is a very good quality white blend, it’s well balanced and pleasantly complex. A welcome zip of acidity comes from the Riesling in the blend which also offsets the heat of spicy food, so this wine is a natural partner for Indian curries and Thai cuisine. The finish is smooth with nice length. Enjoy!
