The 2013 Estate Grown Chardonnay is a blend of three micro harvests from our single estate Chardonnay block, allowing the fruit to gain optimum acidity while ensuring a balance of ripeness and fruit is achieved in the final wine. Over 7 days, we conducted these harvests to capture specific attributes in the fruit. The three wines were aged 5 1/2 months. The first 40% picked was aged in 100% New French oak and the second 40% was aged in first fill French oak. The last harvest of 20% underwent malolactic fermentation and was aged in stainless steel. This process gives the wine lively & fresh, zesty lime and citrus aromatics, balanced with ripe peaches, stone fruits and a touch of coconut on the nose.

The palate follows on course with the nose showing refreshing, mouth-watering acidity, Chablis reminiscent minerality, tart green apples, rich honey undertones and a spiciness that follows through on the long finish. A complex and well balanced wine to enjoy paired with fresh fish, cream based pasta dishes and poultry, yet welcoming and accessible on its own to enjoy on a hot summer day.
