Classic Merlot nose of dense black plum compote at the centre with enticing notes of Dutch licorice, violets and cassis, black pepper and milk chocolate.
The vibrant palate jumps with crushed cassis, plum and blackberry. The ample mouthfeel is full-bodied and textural but not tannic, and the wine’s lovely dark fruit finish reveals ink and sage as well, and a swirl of dark chocolate.
Awards & Ratings
"This is a very stylish merlot sporting almost perfect ripeness with blackberry/blueberry fruit and florals nicely integrated with chocolaty oak, some resin and light wood spice. It is full bodied, very well balanced with almost plush texture yet some firmness and finesse. There is a dusty, forest floor character on the finish, as often experienced in Bordeaux. The length is excellent. Drinkable now with aeration, should hold well through 2028."
