The nose is a wonderful and integrated combination of ripe black fruits, exotic spices, tobacco and licorice. Extended barrel aging with a limited amount of new French oak provides the savory nuances of wood, smoke and toast.

Appearance: Bright, semi-opaque. Deep ruby core, lighter rim.
Nose: Black cherry, black licorice, leather, black pepper, green herbs like mint and eucalyptus.
Palate: Medium acid, medium tannin, medium body. Black cherry, forest floor and cedar, earth, black pepper and baking spice.
Quality: Very Good+. 89 points. A delicate expression. Drinking well now, but will hold for 3-4 years.
Food Pairing: Blue cheese-stuffed mushroom caps, grilled lamb with mint sauce, roasted duck breast with grilled cabbage slaw, filet mignon with parmesan crusted asparagus, and tacos with black beans, savoury herbs, and salsa.
