Pinot Noir

Description

This is not a wimpy Pinot. Our Pinot Noir is bold with beautiful colour, good structure and lots of earthy tones. On the nose it displays raspberry, pomegranate, red licorice, spices, and watermelon. As if those aromas aren’t tempting enough, you are then treated to elegant and supple tannins and flavours of red cherry, raspberry, baking spices, strawberry and a hint of cola.

Tasting Notes

This was a featured wine in March's Wine Club package, 2018.

Geographical Indication: Okanagan Valley, BC

Vineyard: Four Shadows Vineyard and Edwards Vineyard

Cases Produced: 316

Appearance: Bright. Semi-opaque. Garnet core, lighter rim.

Nose: Medium aromatic intensity. Dark cherry, strawberry, licorice, black pepper, forest floor.

Palate:  Medium+ tannin, medium body, medium acid.  Bright red cherry notes, black pepper, cinnamon.

Quality: Excellent quality. This is a Pinot with some punch; it spent 16 months in oak and was fermented with wild yeast. Wonderfully balanced with a long finish. A very stable wine, this red could cellar up to 5 years.

Food Pairing: Roasted pork loin, Veal Parmigiana, grilled Portobello mushroom burgers, chicken shawarma and falafels, stuffed peppers with wild rice and spicy sausage.
