Black pepper, smoked meat, raspberry and violet fill the nose with a seductive hint of vanilla at the end. On the palate, the wine is bright, fresh, and thirst quenching. All things lamb would be best with this, with modestly seasoned sides and a fresh slice of asiago cheese.

The 2017 vintage was a featured wine in February's Wine Club package, 2021.


Geographical Indication: VQA Niagara Lakeshore

Appearance: Bright, semi-opaque. Deep ruby core.
Nose: Black cherry, raspberry, black currant, licorice, smoke, green herbs, hint of earth and forest floor.
Palate: Medium acid, medium tannin, medium body. Dark cherry with a touch of sour cherry tartness.
Quality: Very Good+. 89 points. Decant if drinking now. Cellar 3-5 years.


Food Pairing: Chorizo and black bean empanadas, Moroccan red lentil and quinoa soup, portobello mushroom steaks with avocado chimichurri, maple glazed carrots, and braised ribs with taro.
