The 2017 vintage was a tale of two seasons. A wet, cool summer had us worried, but a warm, sunny fall turned everything around—slow, steady ripening delivered fruit with elegance, balance, and surprising depth. Each Syrah block at Queenston Road Vineyard was vinified separately, then rigorously tasted and sorted. The very best lots became Broken and Unbroken Press, while this Iconoclast Syrah is crafted from the “rest”—though one sip will prove there’s nothing second-tier about it. Delicate yet complex, this Syrah balances juicy red fruit with subtle spice, floral lift, and a savoury, meaty edge. Smooth and elegant on the palate, it’s approachable and ready to enjoy upon release, but it has the structure to develop beautifully with time in the cellar.
