Winemaker's CUT

Like a director's cut, an edited version of a film that represents the director's unique point of view, Winemaker's CUT is influenced by the winemaker and their unique styling/blending of an Okanagan wine.

The grapes that shape CUT wines are hand-harvested at Deadman Lake Vineyard just south of Oliver, BC. With utmost respect to nature, while honoring traditional winemaking methods, sustainable farming, and a zero pesticides policy with low sulphur use, CUT wines develop naturally and express characteristics indicative of this unique Okanagan vineyard.

It is in appreciation of art and harmony that classical music echoes in the vineyard and cellar where the winemaker captures an accumulation of moments and composes quality wines.

The story behind Winemaker's CUT

Winemaker's CUT is the work of Michal and Martina Mosny, who ran a small winery in Slovakia before moving to the Okanagan in 2011. They started the label a few years later, working out of a vineyard south of Oliver.

It is a small, hands-on operation, built around one grower's eye for detail. The name says it plainly: this is the winemaker's own cut.

Small batches, one careful hand

The Mosnys farm without pesticides and work in small blocks, blending by taste rather than formula. Syrah is the wine that turns heads, dark and savoury off the warm South Okanagan bench.

There is a quirk here too: classical music plays in the vineyard and the cellar, an idea they carried from Europe. The 2022 Syrah was named a top red at a recent BC wine competition.
