River Stone Estate Winery
River Stone is in Oliver, surrounded by its own hand-tended vineyard.
The name is literal: the soils are deep rock and gravel dropped by the last glacial retreat. The site was chosen and planted with a Bordeaux blend in mind, now bottled as Corner Stone. All five red Bordeaux varieties grow here, alongside Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris and Gewürztraminer.
Every bottle ships straight from the winery.

The story behind River Stone Estate
River Stone is about as personal as a winery gets. Ted Kane and his wife Lorraine bought a patch of raw land north of Oliver in 2001, planted it themselves in 2002, and opened the tasting room in 2011.
Ted taught himself winemaking along the way, chasing a plan he had carried for years. Everything still comes off that one home vineyard.
One vineyard, Bordeaux reds
The estate grows all five red Bordeaux grapes on site: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Petit Verdot. They come together in the flagship Corner Stone, a serious Okanagan red blend.
Whites like Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Gris round out the range, but reds are the point here. Corner Stone took gold at the 2023 National Wine Awards of Canada.
