Viognier, 2022
Shipped and sold by Moraine Estate Winery
Tasting notes: Our viognier is brimming with aromas of apricots, lemon zest, and orange blossoms. Notes of freshly baked bread and toasted almonds persist on the long, elegant finish.
Food pairing: Pairs beautifully with roast chicken and vegetables, or buttery west coast seafood dishes and risotto.
The 2018 vintage was a featured wine in November's Wine Club package, 2019.
Tasting notes written by Tony Aspler.
Geographical Indication: VQA Okanagan Valley, B.C.
Vineyard: Various Naramata vineyards
Cases Produced: 575
Appearance: Very pale in colour.
Nose: Light honeysuckle and peach aromas on the nose.
Palate: Medium-bodied, dry, elegant, classic Viognier character – white peach and lemon flavours lifted with a floral note. Fresh and lively on the palate.
Quality: Outstanding. 90 points. Drink now and through 2020.
Food Pairing: Apricot and almond chicken salad, seared scallops with saffron cream sauce, porchetta with maple-glazed parsnips, chili-lime shrimp ramen, and honey glazed ham with Dijon mustard.
