This 2-bottle wine duo includes a white and a red wine from Niagara, ON's 13th Street Winery!
2013 Pinot Gris (12.5% alc./vol)
This delicious white is showing a bright lemon hue, sweet dairy, pear, golden apple and light spice notes with soft but balanced acidity, light mineral salts and fruit flavours.Enjoy over the next 3 years with white fish poached or baked with lemon butter, simple chicken dishes, creamy fresh cheeses, green vegetable or herb risotto or sweet garlic pork sausages. Serve lightly chilled rather than cold.
2013 Cabernet Merlot(13.5% alc./vol)
Black and red berry aromas and ripe, supple tannins from the Cabernets is complemented with spiced plum, floral and cedar notes and a soft, juicy mid-palate from the Merlot. Light oak ageing adds a pleasant toasted character. Although suitable for medium-term cellaring, it will also pair nicely now with grilled and roasted meats such as duck, lamb, beef and wild game. Enjoy this wine at 18-20 degrees in large Bordeaux-style glasses which will encourage the release of its multitude of flavours and aromas.
