Maison Sivo

Maison Sivó distils in the Montérégie, drawing on a Hungarian family tradition of fruit brandy going back to the start of the twentieth century.

They make a Quebec single malt and a straight rye, distilled in small batches and rested in lightly toasted oak. A separate aroma still handles the blueberries, raspberries and black currants that go into the brandies and liqueurs. Named Quebec Distillery of the Year at the New York International Spirits Competition in 2017.

Every bottle ships straight from the distillery.

The story behind Maison Sivo

Maison Sivo is a Quebec craft distillery and farm in Franklin, near the US border in the Monteregie. Janos Sivo built it after a career in telecommunications, drawing on a family tradition of making fruit brandies that goes back to Hungary in the early 1900s.

It is a farm as much as a distillery, growing its own fruit and grain.

Quebec whisky, from the farm

Sivo is best known as a pioneer of Quebec whisky, producing the province's early single malt and rye from local grain. It made its first Quebec whisky in 2015.

The range reaches beyond whisky into fruit brandies and liqueurs, made from berries grown on the estate, from black currant to sour cherry. Everything ties back to the farm and orchard.
