The story behind Cornerstone Estate

Cornerstone is a family winery just outside Beamsville, in the Lincoln Lakeshore corner of Niagara. Jerry and Wanda Kopanski founded it in 2002 and opened the doors to visitors in 2005.

The property is part vineyard and part fruit farm, which shows up in the range of wines the family makes.

Small crops, careful hands

Cornerstone keeps its yields low and picks by hand, aiming for concentration in a small run of wines. The vineyard leans heavily on Cabernet Franc, with Chardonnay, Riesling, and others alongside.

Beyond the table wines, the estate is known for a Port-style wine, icewines, and fruit wines, a wider spread than most Niagara wineries attempt.
