Mythology Vineyard
Mythology sits 5 km north of Osoyoos in the Sonoran Desert, the only recognised semi-arid region in western Canada.
The estate is small: 3.75 acres of old vines carrying Merlot and Tempranillo, plus a boutique winery and a craft distillery. Mark Simpson makes the wine, topping up estate fruit with grapes from long-standing growers in the South Okanagan and Similkameen. Expect big, full-flavoured wines.
Every bottle ships straight from the winery.

The story behind Mythology Vineyard
Mythology sits in the desert country around Osoyoos, at the hot southern end of the Okanagan. It took shape in 2022, when winemaker Mark Simpson and partner Teresa Centanni bought and rebranded a small estate whose vines date back to 1995.
The name and labels lean into myth and legend, a bit of storytelling to match the striking desert setting.
Desert fruit, a small estate
This is one of Canada's few true desert wine sites, with sandy soils and long, hot days that suit reds like Merlot and the Spanish grape Tempranillo. The estate is small, only a few acres, so the wines are made in tight lots.
Mark Simpson carries over his Siren's Call label, a wine line he first created back in 2010. The property also runs a small distillery and an inn, so wine is only part of the visit.
Frequently asked questions
What is Mythology Vineyard?
Mythology is a small Osoyoos estate that combines a vineyard, a craft distillery, and an inn. Launched in 2022 on a site planted in 1995, it makes desert-grown wines including the long-running Siren's Call line.
Where is Mythology Vineyard?
Near Osoyoos, at the far southern end of BC's Okanagan Valley, in Canada's pocket of true desert. The hot, dry climate is well suited to ripe reds like Merlot and Tempranillo.
What makes the Osoyoos area special for wine?
Osoyoos sits in one of Canada's only desert-like pockets, with intense heat, sandy soils, and very little rain. That lets red grapes ripen fully and gives the wines a bold, sun-soaked character you do not find further north.
