Description from the Producer
Our Fresh Meritage is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot grapes, sourced from Niagara's top vineyards. The grapes were gently pressed and fermented on their skins for 30 days. Aged in 70% Hungarian and 30% American oak barrels, the wine developed soft, toasty notes before being carefully blended, cold stabilized, and bottled.
Smoky and rich, this wine shows deep tobacco and earthy characters upfront with cedar spice and ripe dark berry fruit aromas. The palate is rich with medium tannins and lightly peppered black fruits.
Try this Meritage with a classic burger hot off the grill, a hearty beef stew, or a simple plate of aged cheddar and crackers. It's also a great match for pizza with rich toppings or a cozy shepherd's pie.
