100% Merlot sourced from our Bench 1775 Estate Vineyard. The challenging 2021 growing season, marked by the late-June heat dome, resulted in lower yields but beautifully concentrated, high-quality fruit. This Merlot opens with lush aromas of black cherry, stewed plum and blackberry compote, layered with evolving notes of dried fig, leather and cocoa. Extended barrel aging has softened the wine beautifully, revealing deeper notes of molasses, toasted oak and warm baking spice, with a subtle savoury character adding complexity while preserving its juicy fruit core. Medium-plus bodied with silky, well-integrated tannins and bright acidity, the wine is concentrated yet balanced, with a smooth, harmonious texture and lingering finish.
